RA Virus

In the first season, the main problem for players becomes the virus. By attacking mobs, you put yourself at risk of infection. You can develop Virus Resistance using the Virus Research Institute, but if it hasn't reached the required level yet, you will eventually infect your soldiers. Infected troops bring negative effects to your base.

The spreading virus is the RA Virus.

Process Mechanics

When you attack mobs without the necessary resistance, your soldiers get infected and bring the infection back to the base. The infection level can range from 0 to 100 stacks (which is the maximum).

The virus infection stack is displayed as an icon over the radar:

Light without numbers — no virus.

Yellow with a number — the number of infected stacks.

Any ally can cure a stack by sending a Scout Plane to you. If you tap on the icon, you will see more detailed information about the debuffs and their severity.

1. Pathology

Here you will find the in-game backstory of the virus's outbreak. There are no special mechanics in this subsection — it is simply lore to immerse you in the season's atmosphere.

2. Infection

The main principles of the RA Virus that you need to know:

  • If your troops' resistance is lower than the monsters', there is a chance to get infected when attacking.
  • Polluters are special monsters guarding military bases and polluted areas. They infect soldiers with virus stacks, even if your resistance is sufficient.
  • Each instance of help from an ally (sending a Scout Plane to your base) instantly cures one virus stack.
  • The more stacks you accumulate, the longer the infection effect lasts. Natural recovery without alliance help takes a very long time, while the debuffs become increasingly severe.

3. Goals

This subsection contains tasks directly related to the virus mechanics. Goals unlock in stages: as soon as you complete one task, the next one immediately becomes available. The exact number of stages may vary depending on the season's progress.

  • Infect your troops — 10 building speedups (5 min each) and 10 diamonds.
  • Cure allies — 5 healing speedups (5 min each) and 10 diamonds.
  • Spread the virus — 5 training speedups (5 min each) and 10 diamonds.

Infection Scale

The infection state is divided into 6 levels, each imposing its own restrictions or providing specific effects:

  1. 0 stacks — completely healthy.
  2. 1 stack — Hospitalization. Every 300 seconds, one unit is sent to the hospital.
  3. 20 stacks — Low morale. Your troop damage is reduced by 4%.
  4. 40 stacks — Lethal virus. Enemy casualties increase by +4%.
  5. 60 stacks — Viral plague. Even if you lose a battle, there is a 6% chance to infect your opponent.
  6. 100 stacks — Virus explosion. A 30-second timer appears above your base. Once it expires, the base explodes, infecting nearby players, and randomly teleports.

Additional Details

An important setting has been added to the Pathology tab: the "Don't allow allies to heal me" checkbox. It was created specifically to help complete the "Spread the virus" goal.

In earlier versions, allies would often start healing a player automatically as soon as they saw the virus icon over their base, which hindered accumulating stacks for the quest. Now you can temporarily turn off alliance help to safely complete your tasks.

Purge Action

Event Period: The event starts on the first day of the first week of the season and lasts for 7 days.

Event Overview: Your goal is to eliminate zombies. Instead of standard enemies, three new types of infected appear on the map: Tanks, Aircraft, and Missile Vehicles.

This new feature allows you to use the unit counter system to increase the efficiency of your attacks:

  • Aircraft are effective against Tanks;
  • Missile Vehicles are effective against Aircraft;
  • Tanks are effective against Missile Vehicles.

In practice, most players have their Main Squad built around a single unit type. If your Virus Resistance matches the enemy's level, the zombies do not pose a serious threat. It is important to remember that all attacks in this event are carried out strictly solo.

Event Mechanics

  1. After the event starts, the time is recorded when a player first eliminates a zombie of the highest available level.
  2. The ranking is based on this principle: the higher the level of the killed zombie, the higher your position. In case of a tie in levels, the advantage goes to the player who completed the kill earlier.
  3. Ranking rewards are sent daily via in-game mail.

Important: If you are a free-to-play (F2P) player, it will be difficult to aim for high positions in the rankings. Spenders upgrade their Virus Resistance much faster and, as a result, manage to clear higher-level zombies within these 7 days.

Useful Bonus: For eliminating each new type of zombie at a specific level, you can receive 1,500 Mutant Crystals . In total, by clearing all 3 types of zombies of the same level, you will collect up to 4,500 crystals. Be sure to take advantage of this for rapid progression!

Purge the polluted area

Event Period: Starts on the first day of the first week of the season and lasts for 13 days.

Event Overview: Now the main goal shifts from solo hunting to capturing military bases together with your alliance.

How it works

  • After the event starts, the time it takes your alliance to capture a military stronghold is recorded.
  • The ranking is based on the stronghold level: the higher the level of the captured objective, the higher the alliance's position.
  • In case of a tie in stronghold levels, the alliance that completed the capture faster (earlier in time) wins.
  • The data is updated daily, and rewards are sent to participants via in-game mail.

Important: The rewards in this event are quite modest. High positions are usually taken only by top alliances with high activity and a strong roster.

Key point: capturing military bases is a necessary step for advancing towards cities. We explained this mechanic in more detail in a separate article about the Season 1 map.

Serum Collection and Serum Shop

Serum Collection event banner

Serum Collection is a regular mini-event that becomes available daily, starting from the second day of the in-game events. It is a great way to restock valuable resources needed for progression in Season 1.

Main Rewards

Participating in the event allows you to obtain:

  • Serum Fragment Serum Fragment — the key resource of the season.
  • Mutant Crystals Mutant Crystals — required for upgrading Protein Farms.
  • A small amount of resource chests.

Mechanics and Rules

The event is a logic puzzle reminiscent of classic Tetris, but with certain nuances:

  • Placing blocks: Various shapes are provided at the bottom of the screen. Drag them onto the playing field, aiming to fill the space as efficiently as possible.
  • Clearing lines: To clear blocks, you need to form a full horizontal row or vertical column.
  • Collecting resources: Inside some blocks, there are DNA icons. Your main task is to clear the specific rows and columns that contain these Genetic Fragments.
  • Level objective: To complete the stage and earn rewards, you must collect a specified number of fragments (for example, 5 at the initial levels, gradually increasing as you progress through the tasks).

Tip: If you get stuck and there is no room left on the board for new shapes, you can press the "Restart" button to reset the progress of the current challenge and start over.

The levels are completed quickly, and daily completion of these tasks will significantly accelerate your progress. The obtained fragments can be used in a special exchange — the Serum Shop.

Serum Shop: Purchase Priorities

At the start of the season, and in general, the speed of base development is much more important than cosmetics and secondary items. Although there are other offers in the shop, it's better to leave them for later. First of all, it is recommended to spend Serum Fragments on the following items:

  • Mutant Crystals Mutant Crystals — required for building and further upgrading Protein Farms.
  • Profession EXP Books Profession EXP Books — will allow you to upgrade development branches in the Hall of Professions faster.

Crimson Legion

The furious Queen orders the Crimson Legion to launch a powerful counterattack!

This event starts on the second week of the first season and lasts for 18 days. Under its rules, every Tuesday and Friday, the Crimson Legion will attack one of your Alliance's cities. In fact, the first active operations will begin on Tuesday of the second week.

How it works

  • At the start of the server day on the day of the attack, the Crimson Legion announces its target — the city it plans to attack.
  • Alliance members will have time to prepare: you can send reinforcements to the selected city. Maximum of 20 participants.
  • 12 hours after the target is announced, the attack begins, consisting of 30 waves of enemies.

Defense and Rewards

  • All Alliance members receive rewards for a successful defense, even if they did not participate personally.
  • The more waves repelled, the better the reward.
  • After each successful defense, the Legion grows stronger: the next time it will attack a higher-level city and deploy more powerful forces.
Crimson Legion

Risks

  • In the beginning, it will be enough to simply send reinforcements and not be online.
  • But each time, the Crimson Legion will grow stronger and begin dealing damage to the players participating in the defense.
  • As a result, a rotation may be required: reinforcing weakened troops or replacing eliminated players.

If a wave is not repelled:

  • The city will take damage, and the reward for this wave will not be received.
  • If the city's durability drops to zero — it will be lost and will fall under the control of the Crimson Legion.

Wave rewards:

Promoting Mason to UR

You can promote Mason to UR level from the first day of the second week of the season until its end.

Promotion Requirements

  • Mason must have a 5-star rank.
  • You need to obtain a Legendary Hero Badge . To do this, you must reach Virus Resistance — 100, which requires building the Virus Research Institute (Level 1). This condition is met automatically during normal base development.
Mason

What happens after promotion

  • Mason's rank will be reset to 3 stars.
  • All skills will reset to level 1 and will change slightly.
  • Hero level will remain unchanged.
  • All Wall of Honor buffs earned after 5 stars will be lost.

What will be returned

  • Shards spent on the Wall of Honor will be returned at a rate of 10 per level as Mason Hero Shards (not Universal Hero Shards , even if those were used).
  • Skill medals spent on leveling up skills will be returned in full.
  • Shards used for promotion from 3 to 5 stars are not returned.
  • All returns will be sent to your in-game mail.

Using Promotion on Train Heroes Day (Thursday)

On Thursday, the Train Heroes event takes place, where points are awarded for using Hero Shards and Skill Medals . This is a great opportunity to maximize your points in VS Duel.

Recommended sequence of actions:

  1. Spend all Mason Hero Shards and Universal SSR Hero Shards on the Wall of Honor (10 shards per level).
  2. Use all Skill Medals to upgrade Mason's skills.
  3. Apply the Legendary Hero Badge — Mason will be promoted to UR, and the resources (medals and Wall of Honor shards) will be returned to you.
  4. Use the returned shards to increase Mason's rank from 3 to 4, and then to 5 stars (if you have enough resources).
  5. Skill Medals can be invested back into Mason or redirected to a more important hero if he is not in your main squad.

This approach allows you to use the same resources twice during a single event and earn the maximum number of points in VS Duel.

Please note: many players will use this method, so if Mason is not your key hero, you can delay the promotion until next Thursday or even the following season. The main thing is to keep the Legendary Hero Badge.

Summary

  • ❌ You will lose the shards invested in rank from 3 to 5 stars.
  • ❌ You will lose Wall of Honor buffs.
  • ⚠️ Promoting Mason to 5★ will become 2 times more expensive.
  • ✅ UR Mason will become slightly stronger.
  • 📉 He is still weaker than Stetmann. If you are using Mason, you likely don't have Stetmann yet.
  • ⏳ If Mason is not in your main squad — do not rush to promote him. You can wait for a specific Thursday when your alliance needs help with duel points, or perhaps even a new season where another SSR hero can be promoted.

Additional Event: Level Exchange

This event starts on the first day of the second week and lasts until the end of the season. During the event, you can swap the levels of two heroes using Swap Coupons .

How to obtain coupons

  • Upon reaching 600 Virus Resistance, you will receive 1 Hero Swap Coupon.
  • Upon reaching 2,800 Virus Resistance — you will receive another coupon.

How the exchange works

Coupons can be used in the special event menu to exchange levels between two heroes.

Level Swap

Important to consider:

  • If the hero being leveled down had unlocked skills that depend on their level, they may be temporarily locked.
  • To unlock these skills, you will need to level up the hero again.
