Great Rewards, Valor Badges & Alliance Prestige
Alliance VS Duel in Last War: Survival
Alliance VS Duel in Last War is one of the most important and exciting weekly events in the game. It is not only an opportunity to earn valuable rewards, both individual and for the entire alliance, but also the main source of Valor Badges
. These badges are essential for researching key technologies, including those that allow you to unlock T10 level troops.
In addition, the Duel adds competitive excitement and an element of prestige to the game, which is why many alliances set strict point requirements for their members. In this article, we will analyze in detail how to participate effectively in the duel to maximize your results.
Basics
The Alliance VS Duel is a six-day competition where each day is dedicated to a specific theme. For winning a daily stage, the alliance receives points, but the amount varies: Day 1 awards 1 point, Days 2 through 5 award 2 points each, and Day 6 awards 4 points at once.
To achieve overall victory in the duel, you need to score 7 points. This implies a simple strategy: win every day from Monday to Thursday (1 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 7 points) to secure an early victory. Even the first day with its single point should not be underestimated — it is part of the foundation. If you have reached the coveted seven points by Friday, the last two days can be spent in a more relaxed mode. This is especially relevant for Saturday — the final day of the Duel, which involves active combat against the rival alliance. We recommend not delaying the fight for victory until this moment.
Many Duel tasks overlap with Arms Race events. Smart resource management allows you to participate in both events simultaneously and get double benefits. In Last War, small, chaotic upgrades rarely provide an advantage. It is much more profitable to hoard resources for a week to go all-in on the right day.
Golden Rules of the Duel:
- Synchronization: Always synchronize your Duel tasks with opening chests in the Arms Race.
- Discipline: Spend resources (speedups, recruitment, upgrades) only on the designated theme days. On other days, maintain strict saving discipline.
- Coordination: Read alliance announcements carefully. Leadership assesses chances of winning in advance: if the opponent is too strong, an order may come to save resources and only claim individual rewards. Mails also often remind you of daily tasks so you don't get mixed up.
- Security: On Friday evening, be sure to activate a shield.
- Technical Note: Keep in mind that the daily server reset takes 5–7 minutes. During this short period, points may not count, so it is better to wait a bit.
Day 1: Radar Training (Monday)
On the first day of the Alliance Duel, points can be earned by performing the following actions:
- Using Stamina

Scoring points for spending stamina overlaps with the "Arms Race: Drone Upgrade" event. This allows you to complete two goals with one action and progress in both events simultaneously. - Completing Radar Tasks

Preparation for this stage is best started on Sunday. Complete radar tasks, but do not claim the rewards — leave them pending with a red dot
. Tasks will accumulate, but remember the limit (storage is not infinite).
Tip: Calculate your timing so that by Monday morning you have a number of tasks close to the limit (e.g., 34/35) and minimum time on the new task timer. After the daily reset, claim all rewards at once. Since many tasks require stamina, this combines perfectly with the Arms Race. - Using Hero XP

It is most profitable to spend XP on Thursday (the specific Hero day). But if on Monday you are short on points for individual rewards or need to urgently help the alliance snatch a victory — use it. This action also counts towards the "Arms Race: Hero Upgrade". - Using Drone Parts
and Battle Data
This is the main source of points on Monday. Hoard these resources all week to dump them on this specific day.
Strategy: If the opponent is weak, spend exactly enough to get all individual chests, and save the rest for next week. If there is a fierce fight or you want to become the Duel MVP — use everything to the max.
- Drone Chip Chests
In the later stages of the game (from day 85), points are added for opening chests with chips.

- Gathering Resources from Tiles
A trick for extra points: send all your squads to gather resources on Sunday evening. The main thing is to calculate the time so that they return to the base strictly after the daily server reset. How to check the time:- When sending a squad, look at the "Gathering Time" timer (if the server resets at 05:00, the squad must return at 05:01 or later).
- If the squads are already in the field, use the timer of any current Event as a guide — it always shows how much time is left until the end of the game day.
Day 2: Base Expansion (Tuesday)
On the second day of the Alliance Duel, points are awarded for strengthening your base and developing infrastructure. The main ways to earn points:
- Using Building Speedups

Use building speedups, including universal ones
, to complete building construction. This is one of the main sources of points on Tuesday. - Increasing Building Power
Increasing power means not just finishing construction, but also placing buildings from the gift box.
Trick: Unless there is an urgent need (e.g., to unlock new features), keep completed buildings in the "gift" state until Tuesday. This is especially relevant for secondary structures (mines, hospitals) and in the early stages of the game.
Construction Planning Tip:
- On Sunday, start constructing "heavy" buildings with long timers (Headquarters, Barracks, Tech Center). Start several such constructions at once.
- On Tuesday, finish them using speedups. To maximize points, it is ideal to complete 2–3 major buildings and spend a total of 10–14 days' worth of speedups.
Scoring points for building power and speedups overlaps with the "Arms Race: City Building" event. Try to complete them in parallel.
- Sending UR Trucks

Send only Legendary (UR) trucks, as points are awarded specifically for them. Do not spare Trade Contracts
to refresh the list until an orange truck appears.
- Completing Legendary Secret Tasks

Complete Legendary (orange) tasks in the Secret Command Post. Use Secret Orders
to refresh the list.
Tip: Tasks with a star
appear periodically. Do not complete them as soon as you see them. Leave them pending — they last a long time, so it is profitable to save them specifically for Duel days. - Recruiting Survivors

Save Survivor Recruitment Tickets throughout the week and use them in the Tavern specifically on Tuesday. Interesting fact: at high levels of the game, players often forget about this source of points, although it gives a decent boost. - Using Armament Materials (After Season 4)
For players who have reached Season 4, a new mechanic unlocks. Points are awarded for using Armament Materials and Armament Cores, which are necessary to unlock and upgrade T11 troops. If you are at this stage of the game, Tuesday is the best day to invest in new technologies.
Day 3: Age of Science (Wednesday)
The third day of the Alliance Duel is dedicated to science. It is one of the most challenging days to score points, but with proper preparation, you can pull ahead here.
- Using Tech Research Speedups

Spend research speedups, including universal ones
, to complete processes faster. - Increasing Tech Power
Points are awarded for completing research. Important difference from buildings: Do not try to "save" completed research by not clicking finish. This will block your Tech Center, and you will lose precious time.
Planning Tip:
- Start a long and difficult research in advance (a few days early) so that its timer expires on Wednesday. This will give an instant boost of points at the start of the day.
- Scoring points here overlaps with the "Arms Race: Tech Research" event.
- Using Valor Badges

This is your trump card. Badges yield a huge amount of points. They are used in advanced tech branches:- Alliance Duel (the most important branch for points);
- Trucks;
- Special Forces.
Strategy: Badges are a scarce resource, obtained mainly by winning the Duel itself. Do not spend them on other days! Hoard them all week, and on Wednesday dump all your stock along with speedups to research as many "badge" techs as possible.
- Completing Radar Tasks

The mechanic is the same as on Monday. Start preparing on Tuesday: complete tasks, but do not claim the rewards (leave them pending with a red dot
). On Wednesday morning, claim everything at once. - Opening Drone Component Chests
Save chests with components throughout the week and open them only on Wednesday.

Day 4: Train Heroes (Thursday)
The fourth day of the Alliance Duel is dedicated to hero development. It is one of the easiest and most favorite days for many players, as it allows you to quickly score points using accumulated resources.
Points can be earned for the following actions:
- Elite Recruitment
Recruit heroes in the Tavern.

- Using Hero XP

Increase hero levels using accumulated XP. This method also overlaps with "Arms Race — Hero Upgrade", allowing you to effectively combine both events. - Using Hero Shards
Promote hero stars using shards:

Later, the ability to earn points for upgrading Exclusive Weapons
will be added. - Using Skill Medals

Upgrade hero skills using skill medals. This not only yields points but also increases the combat effectiveness of your squads.
Important Tips:
- All resources related to hero improvement (XP, shards, skill medals) should be saved for this day and not spent without urgent necessity.
- Try to synchronize your actions as much as possible with the "Arms Race — Hero Upgrade" event to get double benefits.
Day 5: Total Mobilization (Friday)
The fifth day of the Alliance Duel is a stage of comprehensive preparation. In fact, it is a mix of all previous days (Construction, Tech, Radar), but with an important caveat: most likely, your reserves of resources for construction and research have already run out on Tuesday and Wednesday. Therefore, the main focus on Friday is on soldier training.
-
Completing Radar Tasks
The principle is the same as before. Start preparing on Thursday: complete tasks, but do not claim the rewards (leave them with a red dot). On Friday morning, collect all tasks at once. -
Building Speedups and Increasing Building Power
If you have resources left, use construction speedups and complete buildings, just as you did on Tuesday. If there are buildings left in "gift boxes" — now is the time to unpack them. -
Tech Speedups and Increasing Tech Power
Complete and apply technologies if you have spare speedups left. The principle of action is similar to Wednesday. -
Training Speedups and Training Units

Unit training is your main source of points on Friday. To get the most out of it, train units in stages (promoting troop levels is often more profitable than direct training). We analyzed these nuances in detail in the article "Unit Training". -
Advanced Content (Late Seasons)
In the later stages of the game, the list of point sources expands. Additional points can be obtained for:- Upgrading the Gorilla Overlord;
- Creating and training T11 level soldiers.
Important:
- Scoring points for training overlaps perfectly with the "Arms Race — Unit Progression" event. Synchronize your actions!
Day 6: Enemy Buster (Saturday)
The sixth day of the Alliance Duel is dedicated to combat operations. This is the culmination of the week — the most difficult and intense day, as success here depends not only on your preparation but also on the actions of the enemy.
Points can be earned for the following actions:
- Sending UR Trucks

Send only Legendary (UR) trucks. Do not spare Trade Contracts
to refresh the list, as these are guaranteed points that do not depend on the outcome of the war. - Completing Legendary Secret Tasks

Complete Legendary (orange) tasks in the Secret Command Post. Use Secret Orders
to refresh.
Tip: If you followed the strategy and saved tasks with a star
throughout the week, today is the best day to complete them all. - Using ANY Speedups
Unlike theme days, on Saturday points are awarded for using absolutely all types of speedups (healing, training, construction, tech):

- Killing Enemy Units (or losing your own)
Points are awarded for killing enemy soldiers and for the death of your own.
Important Nuance: You can attack any players (including on other servers), but there is a significant difference in scoring. Killing units of the rival alliance (the one you are dueling against) gives 5 times more points than anyone else. Therefore, the priority target is your opponent in the table.
Survival Strategy:
- Shield is Mandatory: On Friday evening, before going to sleep, be sure to activate a shield (for 8, 12, or 24 hours). The server daily reset often happens deep in the night or early in the morning. Enemies from other time zones can burn you while you sleep.
- Assess the Situation: Saturday is unpredictable.
- If the opponent is too strong — stay under the shield, score points using trucks, tasks, and speedups.
- If the forces are equal or you have the advantage — attack.
- Sometimes alliance leadership agrees on a non-aggression pact (NAP). In this case, points are gained only through "peaceful" means. Read the alliance chat!
Alliance Duel Tech Branch
To radically increase your point scoring, you need to upgrade the specialized technology branch — "Alliance Duel" — as quickly as possible. The math is simple: the difference between a "naked" account and one upgraded to 100% is 2.5–3 times. That is, for the same actions, you will receive three times more points.
Research Features:
- Resources: Food, Iron, and Gold are not needed here. The only fuel for upgrading is Valor Badges
. - Timing: It is strictly recommended to research these technologies on Wednesday (Science Day). This way you get double benefits: points for spending badges and points for completing the research.
Upgrade Goals:
- Complete the branch to at least 80%.
- Top Priority: Research the "Advanced Reward" and "Super Reward" technologies as quickly as possible.
Why this is needed: These technologies unlock additional reward chests. They contain even more Valor Badges. It creates a cycle of success: the faster you open them, the more badges you will receive weekly for further development.
Alliance Duel Rewards
1. Individual Rewards
As you score points, a progress bar fills up daily, allowing you to open reward chests.
- Basic (Chests 1–3): Available to all players immediately. To claim all rewards of this stage, you need to score 540,000 points.
- Advanced (Chests 4–6): Become available after researching the "Advanced Reward" technology. To claim, you need to score 2,300,000 points.
- Super (Chests 7–9): Require researching the "Super Reward" technology. To claim, you need to score 7,200,000 points.
Tip:
The value of rewards grows with each level. The most important items are Valor Badges
and Universal Shards
.
A good strategy is to score exactly 7.2 million points daily. This allows you to claim all personal rewards without unnecessary waste. Exceeding this limit and spending further resources is only worth it if alliance leadership asks everyone to go all out for victory against a tough opponent.
2. Ranking Rewards
The ranking is formed based on points scored by players of the two battling alliances.
Nuance: Being the MVP (the player with the most points) is very honorable and profitable, but it requires colossal resource expenditure, often exceeding the standard norm.
3. Alliance Rewards
This is the result of teamwork:
- Daily Rewards: Awarded to all members for the alliance's victory at the end of a specific day.
- Weekly Rewards: Awarded at the end of the week. Their value depends on the outcome of the entire duel (victory or defeat).
