Pets in Last War: Survival Game — Ultimate Gorilla Guide
At a certain point in server development in Last War, the Pet system opens. This is an important innovation that directly increases the power of your army. Pets:
- Join a specific squad (to which you assign them).
- Enhance the combat stats of heroes.
- Actively participate in battles alongside heroes.
The pioneer of this system is the Gorilla Overlord. Access to it opens on Day 96 of Season 2 (usually a Thursday). It is a full-fledged combat unit with unique skills. Regarding acquisition: if you play without spending, be prepared that collecting the pet will take a lot of time and require activity in events. Purchasing game packs will significantly speed up this process, allowing you to unlock and upgrade your faithful assistant faster, but even with spending, it will require some effort.
How to Find and Heal the Gorilla?
It all starts with the Radar. On Day 96 of Season 2 (Thursday), a special mission will appear among the regular tasks — "Special Rescue" (icon with a gorilla face). Your first task is to save the baby.Immediately after this, the "Unexpected Discovery" quest chain will open, during which you will find a wounded adult gorilla. After evacuation, a new building will become available on your base — the "Overlord Base". This is where the rehabilitation of the future fighter will take place.
Healing Process
The Gorilla arrives to you in critical condition. To enable it to join the battle, you need to fill the healing progress bar (150 points in total).Healing points are granted for using special items that can be found in Radar tasks or purchased in packs:
- Water: restores +2 points.
- Food: restores +3 points.
- Medicine: restores +5 points.
Where to Get Resources?
- Radar Tasks: Look for Exclusive Missions. They appear 3 times a day.
- Gifts from the Baby: The baby you saved leaves supplies daily at the entrance to your base as a token of gratitude.
Daily Limits
The developers have introduced an artificial limit, so you cannot heal the pet instantly. Progress unlocks in stages:
- Day 1: Healing limit — 50 points.
- Day 2: Limit increases to 90 points.
- Day 3: Maximum — 130 points.
- Day 4: The bar fills up to 150 points, and the Gorilla fully recovers.
Once healing is complete, access to the next stage unlocks — training.
Gorilla Training: how to add to the squad?
This section is dedicated to the minimum requirements necessary to add the Gorilla Overlord to your squad. We will cover further development of the pet (upgrading skills and strengthening above level 100) later. To include the gorilla in the battle formation, you need to reach the "New Partner 1" Bond Rating. It opens only upon reaching level 100 of all three Specialized Training stats.
What is needed?
For training, three types of resources are required:
- Training Guidebook

- Training Certificate
(the rarest resource) - Bond Badge

Which stats to upgrade?
Specialized Training takes place in three main development directions:
- Joint Attack
- Defense Support
- Survival Challenge
Important: The bonus from the level of this training applies to all Overlords and heroes.
Upgrade Cost (Levels 1–100)
Below is a table of resource costs for each training stage.
| Level | Training Guidebook | Training Certificates (every 5 levels) |
|---|---|---|
| 1–20 | 600 | 10 (at level 5, 10, 15, 20) |
| 21–40 | 800 | 20 (at level 25, 30, 35, 40) |
| 41–60 | 1000 | 30 (at level 45, 50, 55, 60) |
| 61–80 | 1200 | 40 (at level 65, 70, 75, 80) |
| 81–100 | 1400 | 50 (at level 85, 90, 95, 100) |
Bond Rating
Besides upgrading main stats, the Gorilla has a Bond Rating with the player. This parameter additionally boosts attack, defense, and HP, but most importantly — you cannot add the pet to the squad without reaching the required rank.To increase the bond level, special items are used — Bond Badges.
Rank Hierarchy
There are a total of 6 bond stages. Progress is linear:
- No Rating (Starting position)
- New Partner – unlocks upon reaching level 50 of all training stats.
- Rookie Partner – unlocks upon reaching level 100 of all stats. Important: It is the "New Partner 1" rank that allows you to deploy the Gorilla into battle!
- Trusted Friends
- Reliable Partner
- Loyal Friend
Bond Upgrade Cost
Each rank (except zero) is divided into 10 sub-levels. Resource costs at initial stages are as follows:
- "New Partner" Rank (available from lvl 50):
- You will need 2 badges for each sub-level.
- This stage will take 20 badges in total.
- "Rookie Partner" Rank (available from lvl 100):
- The cost increases to 4 badges for each sub-level.
- To activate the "Rookie Partner 1" rank and unlock the squad slot, you will need 4 badges at once.
Total Training Costs
To meet the minimum requirements and add the Gorilla to the combat squad, you will need the following resources (considering upgrading all three branches to level 100):
- 300,000 Training Guidebooks.
- 1,800 Training Certificates.
- 24 Bond Badges (20 to complete the "Rookie Partner" rank + 4 to unlock "Rookie Partner 1").
Once these conditions are met, the Gorilla can be officially assigned to a squad!Bonus: it is at this stage that you will have the opportunity to give the pet a unique name.
Gorilla Overlord Further Development
This section is under development. Basic information is presented for now.
You can upgrade the Gorilla Overlord in four main ways:
- Specialized Training
- Bond Rating
- Gorilla Overlord Level
- Gorilla Overlord Skills
In the previous section, we partially covered the first two methods necessary to assign the Gorilla to your squad. Now let's analyze the full development of this pet.
1. Specialized Training
Specialized Training allows you to upgrade key attributes: attack, defense, and HP. Important: these bonuses apply to all your heroes and pets and work regardless of whether the Gorilla Overlord is in the current squad. Two types of resources are required for training (leveling up):
- Training Guidebook

- Training Certificate
(the rarest resource)
Upgrade Directions
Development takes place in three main branches:
- Joint Attack
- Defense Support
- Survival Challenge
Leveling up in any of these branches strengthens your entire account (all Overlords and heroes).
2. Bond Rating
Unlike Specialized Training (which boosts the entire account), the Bond Rating boosts only heroes in the same squad as this Overlord. To upgrade, you will need:
- Bond Badge

There are a total of 5 main ranks (starting with "Rookie Partner"), each divided into 10 sub-levels. Upgrading each sub-level gives a small stat increase, while moving to a new rank gives a significant bonus.
3. Gorilla Overlord Level
The maximum level of the pet itself is 60. Leveling up directly increases the Gorilla's combat stats, making it more effective in battle.Important Condition: Leveling unlocks only after reaching the "New Partner 1" Bond Rating. To upgrade, you will need:
- Overlord Shards (you can use both specific Gorilla shards and universal ones)

4. Gorilla Overlord Skills
The Gorilla Overlord possesses 5 unique skills, upgrading which will significantly boost your squad's combat power.Important Condition: Access to skills unlocks (just like leveling up) only after reaching the "New Partner 1" status. To upgrade, you will need:
- Overlord Skill Badge

Skill List:
- Riot Shot
- Overlord’s Armor
- Brutal Roar
- Furious Hunt
- Expert Overlord
Main Resource Sources
Where to get materials for pet upgrades? Let's look at the main ways to obtain resources.
Tactical Institute
Immediately after completing the Gorilla's healing, you will be able to build a new building on your base — the Tactical Institute. It works as a passive resource generator, constantly producing Training Guidebooks
.Tip: Try to upgrade this building to increase the volume and speed of resource production.
"Overlord" Starting Event (One-time)
Along with the appearance of the pet, a special event is launched, designed for 5 days. The mechanics resemble "Pioneer Target" at the beginning of the game: new groups of tasks unlock daily, but 7 days are given to complete them. For completing these tasks, you will receive a solid starting supply of Training Certificates
and Guidebooks
.(Tasks by day are presented below)
Furthermore, this event features a general progress bar (max 700 points). For filling it completely, you will receive:
- 50 Training Certificates

- 1 Bond Badge

Our Tip: Pay special attention to tasks that award certificates, and aim to fill the progress bar to the maximum. Certificates are a very rare resource, so you must not miss them.

Radar Tasks
After completing the Gorilla's healing, a new mission chain activates in the Radar menu. There are a total of 42 tasks in this series, but you can complete no more than 3 per day (meaning it will take at least 2 weeks to complete the entire chain).Important Note: If you miss a few days, the tasks do not expire. They remain in the queue, and you can complete them later.Rewards:
- Every 3rd task brings improved prizes, including Training Certificates
and Overlord Shards
. - In other tasks, you can obtain Epic
and Legendary
Blueprint Chests.
Armed Truck (Expedition)
With the launch of the Pet system, a new additional mission opens in the Expedition (Armed Truck) menu. Many experienced players stop checking this section, so it is important not to miss this update. Two types of rewards are provided here:
- One-time rewards: You receive them for the first completion of each difficulty level.
- Passive income: Hourly chests that accumulate automatically. The further you progress through the levels, the higher the chance of dropping Epic
and Legendary Chests
.
Tip: We recommend completing at least 100 levels on the very first day. This will significantly increase your chances of regularly receiving legendary chests within hourly rewards.
Chest Opening Mechanics
Epic
and Legendary
chests that you obtain in the Radar and Expedition are your main source of rare resources. A cumulative system operates within them:
- Epic Chest: contains a list of 50 prizes, including 1 Grand Prize.
- Legendary Chest: contains a list of 30 prizes, including 1 Grand Prize.
- How Luck Works: If you get the Grand Prize, you instantly receive the entire remaining list of rewards from this chest.
- If Unlucky: You receive one random prize from the list, and it is excluded from the reward pool. Thus, in the worst case, you will need to open 50 Epic or 30 Legendary chests to guaranteed claim all contents.
Weekly Store Buyouts
Pet resources are always in short supply, so buying out store limits is essential. We recommend checking these sections immediately after the weekly reset:
Alliance Store
Bond Badge — 1 pc.
Universal Overlord Shards — 5 pcs.
VIP Store
Bond Badge — 1 pc.
Training Guidebooks — 6,000 pcs.
Expedition Store
Training Certificates — 20 pcs.
Overlord Skill Badges — 3,000 pcs.
Training Guidebooks — 6,000 pcs.
Game Events
Resources for the Gorilla are also integrated into regular game activities. At the time of the pet's appearance in the game, they are available in the following events:
- General's Trial at difficulty level 4 includes rewards in the form of Overlord Skill Badges
and Universal Overlord Shards
. - Killing level 105–120 Zombie Bosses in the "Zombie Invasion" event gives Training Guidebooks
.
Only those free activities available immediately at the moment of the Gorilla Overlord's appearance are listed here. As the game develops, the number of events with resources will only grow. And, of course, no one will forbid you to speed up the process by purchasing various paid packs in the game store.
Conclusion
The Gorilla Overlord is a powerful tool for strengthening your squad, but it is important to understand: its development will be long and expensive. Most importantly: focus on collecting Training Certificates and Bond Badges from the first days of the event's appearance. These rare resources will become the main bottleneck in development if you do not start saving them in advance. Competent upgrading of the pet will provide you with a tangible advantage in battles in the late stages of the game.
