Second Builder Without Spending: How to Stretch 2 Hours into Days
In Last War, having a second builder is critical for development. Usually, it costs real money, but the game allows you to hire one temporarily for 500 Diamonds.
Officially, the rental lasts only 2 hours. But knowing the game mechanics, you can make him work for you for 3, 5, or even 10 days for the same price.
What is the Secret?
The 2-hour timer only limits the start time of the construction. If the builder has already started working, he won't drop the hammer and leave when the timer expires. He will keep working until the building is finished.
Our goal is to give him the longest job in the world before the rental ends.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Occupy the First Builder: Send your main (free) worker to upgrade something quick (e.g., a mine for 10 minutes) or clear territory. The first slot must be busy!
- Hire the Second: Tap the hammer icon and buy the second building queue for 500 Diamonds.
- Assign a "Long Build": While the 2-hour timer is ticking, find the building with the longest upgrade time (usually the HQ, Barracks, or Tech Center). Send the second builder there.
- Profit: After 2 hours, the rental time will run out. The icon will become paid again. BUT! The builder himself will continue working on the HQ for all the remaining days. During this time, your first (free) builder will become available, and you can use him for short upgrades.

Main Rule: DO NOT SPEED UP!
This is a critical rookie mistake. If you use Speedups on a building being built by the "rented" worker and finish the construction early, he will disappear immediately since his 2-hour rental has long expired.
Tip: Spend Speedups only on the builder who is free (your main one). Let time handle the "paid" one.
Final Thoughts
For 500 Diamonds, you get not 2 hours, but a full week of work from the second slot. Use this trick on high HQ levels when construction takes days, and you will save a lot of real money.
