Map Update and Progress Reset

With the start of Season 1, the game map is completely reset. All alliances lose control over captured cities. Players spawn at random locations along the edges of the new map. The alliance that held the Capitol before the season started will maintain control over it for another 28 days. More details about the season's combat events will be provided in the Season 1 Map article.

Virus and Resistance System

In Season 1 (S1), the game world changes: now zombies on the map and Doom Elite (giant scorpions) are protected by a virus Virus icon. To fight them effectively, you will need a new parameter — Virus Resistance Virus Resistance icon.

Why Resistance is More Important Than Power?

In this season, the standard power indicator takes a backseat. You might significantly outmatch a monster in strength, but if your Virus Resistance is lower than required, you will likely lose.

Resistance Deficiency Penalty Mechanics:

If your indicator is lower than required (for example, 350 out of 500), severe negative effects are applied:

  • Your Damage Reduction: In this example, damage drops by 60%, and with a critical gap, the penalty reaches 99%.
  • Increased Monster Damage: The enemy starts hitting much harder — in the example, monster damage to your troops is increased by 375% and reaches up to 900% during a critical gap.

Rallies — Team Play

The Rally mechanics in the season operate under special rules for immunity distribution:

  • Leader's Priority: The rally leader's resistance stat applies to all team members.
  • If your resistance is lower than the leader's: You automatically use the leader's stat and fight without penalties.
  • If your resistance is higher than the leader's: You retain your personal (higher) stat, but it only protects your squads and does not help other members.

Tactical Advice

Personal Attacks on Doom Elite

The first victory at each level of the Doom Elite grants valuable rewards, including Mutant Crystals, which are necessary for season upgrades. However, resistance requirements increase with each level.

If you lack resistance:

  1. Help from a strong player: Ask a strong ally to join your rally as the second participant.
  2. Minimizing troop losses: To save healing resources, send only one hero in your squad instead of five. This will significantly reduce the number of casualties, while a strong ally with high resistance completes the combat objective without taking losses.

Group Attacks

When attacking strategic objects, the rally must be organized only by a player with maximum resistance. If the leader's resistance is insufficient, the entire team's damage will be reduced to zero, and troop casualties will be massive.

Introduction to the Weather System

With the start of Season 1, the battlefield moves to a new region — the Land of Fog and Rain. The local climate is highly unstable: sunny periods can instantly be replaced by toxic rainfall or dense fog. The weather here is a full participant in battles, directly affecting the accumulation of virus stacks, march speed, and experience gain.

Interface and Weather Forecast

It is important for the commander to constantly monitor the current conditions, as they can change at any moment. All necessary information is concentrated in one place:

  • Main Screen Indicator: the current weather effect and the time until it ends are displayed at the top of the interface.
  • Monica's Report: by tapping the weather icon, you will open the "Weather Effects" window. Here, assistant Monica shows three possible variants of the upcoming weather with their probabilities (for example: Clear — 59%, Fog — 30%).
  • Time Control: in the forecast window, you can switch between local time and server time. This simplifies the coordination of joint attacks with alliance allies.

Important to remember: probability is just a hint. The exact duration of each effect is hidden, and the weather can change suddenly.

Weather Types and Their Effects

After the season starts, the weather changes according to the following rules:

  • Days 1–2 (start of the season): the weather is fixed to Cloudy, without any effects. This period is given to commanders to get used to the new interface.
  • Starting from Day 3: the weather begins to change randomly at irregular intervals. A total of 7 types of conditions are available: 1 neutral, 3 favorable, and 3 unfavorable.

Neutral Weather

Cloudy: has no effect on gameplay and unit stats. This state serves as a "resting point" between different weather phases.

Description of the Cloudy neutral weather effect in Last War.

Favorable Weather (Accelerated Development and Battles)

Sunny — the primary weather for fast leveling at the start of the season.

  • Effect: +30% to base Profession EXP for killing monsters.
  • Tactical Tip: this is the "golden time." Use all your stamina to farm zombies and complete events. The goal is to reach Profession level 40 as quickly as possible and unlock seasonal skills.

Rainbow — a time for steady experience accumulation.

  • Effect: while you are online, Profession EXP gradually increases in passive mode.
  • Advantage: ideal for resource gathering — you develop and replenish your supplies simultaneously.

Light Rain

  • Effect: troops do not accumulate virus stacks.
  • PvP: attacking units cannot infect the base, and the defender takes less virus damage.
  • PvE: squads do not receive penalties for accumulated virus, even upon defeat.
  • Tactical Tip: the best time to complete difficult levels of Doom Elite and get first-kill rewards.
List of beneficial weather effects: Sunny, Rainbow, and Light Rain in Last War.

Unfavorable Weather (Increased Difficulty)

Foggy — a time of heightened danger.

  • Effect: the number of virus stacks from monsters increases by +1.
  • PvE: infection occurs much faster. Even 1 stack results in a severely wounded unit every 300 seconds. At 20 stacks, a damage penalty is applied.
  • Urban Combat: with insufficient resistance, squads can bring the virus into the city.
  • Tip: coordinate healing and assistance with allies in advance.

Acid Rain — the most dangerous effect.

  • Mechanic: virus stacks accumulate automatically over time.
  • Important: virus resistance does not help.
  • Consequences: HP reduction, slower production, blocked functions at high infection levels.
  • Countermeasure: cleansing or teleporting to another server.
  • PvP Opportunity: infected troops can be used to weaken the enemy.

Windy — a test of logistics.

  • Effect: march speed is reduced by 30%.
  • Impact: increases rally and support times.
  • Tip: adjust attack and movement timings in advance.
List of adverse weather effects: Acid Rain, Foggy, and Windy in Last War Season 1.

Weather, Servers, and Planning

Weather is not just about buffs, but also a strategic factor for placement.

Server Independence

There are usually 8 servers in one season group, and each has its own weather.

  • Tactical relocation: you can move for favorable conditions.
  • Base binding: effects depend on the map where the base is located.
  • Different conditions in the alliance: allies on different servers experience different weather.

Important: always check the forecast before teleporting.

How to Work with the Forecast

The weather remains unpredictable, but it provides room for planning:

  • Probability is not a guarantee.
  • Monitor the timer of the current weather.
  • Adapt your strategy to the forecast.

Use "Monica's Report" to minimize risks and always have a backup plan.

New Farms — Alliance Resources

After defeating a Doom Elite, there is a chance that a new type of alliance resource farm will appear in the form of a mine.

What can be collected: Food Food icon, Iron Iron icon, Gold Gold icon, Diamonds Diamonds icon, Immune Protein Immune Protein icon, and Mutant Crystal Mutant Crystal icon.

Features:

  • Joint collection is available for up to 10 alliance members.
  • You must deploy a squad to begin collecting.
  • Coordinates for these farms are typically posted in the Alliance Chat to avoid misunderstandings and ensure organized gathering.

Important: For rare resources like Immune Protein and Mutant Crystals, an alliance may decide to prioritize collection for its most active members. This helps them upgrade seasonal buildings faster and strengthens the overall combat potential of the entire alliance.

Hero Changes

1. Return of the Legend

If you missed out on getting heroes like Schuyler and Williams, now is your chance to fix that.

Starting from Day 1 of the season, a new type of recruitment ticket will be introduced — "Hero's Return" Hero's Return Recruitment Ticket icon.

With these, you can summon all UR heroes in the tavern, with a significantly higher chance of obtaining Schuyler and Williams.

💡 These tickets count toward Arms Race and Duel VS events and provide the same amount of points as regular recruitment tickets.

2. Exclusive Weapons

Kimberly

Starting from Day 4 of the season, Kimberly's Exclusive Weapon Shards can be obtained through the premium Battle Pass.

These shards allow you to:

  • Activate the weapon.
  • Upgrade it further for increased power.

If you are playing for free (F2P), you can still accumulate Universal Exclusive Weapon Shards, but:

  • They can only be used for upgrading; they cannot be used to activate the weapon.
  • You will need to wait for specific shards to appear in the Black Market.

DVA

Starting from Day 18 of the season, DVA's exclusive weapon will be released following the same scheme.

The rules remain the same:

  • Activation: Only available through the Battle Pass.
  • Upgrading: Possible using Universal Shards.
DVA

Tesla

Starting from Day 39 of the season, Tesla's exclusive weapon will become available. The process for obtaining and upgrading it is the same as for Kimberly and DVA:

  • Activation: Only available through the Battle Pass.
  • Upgrading: Possible using Universal Shards.

3. Black Market

Starting from Day 57 of the season, the Black Market will open—a crucial event for F2P players. Here, you can purchase:

  • Shards for exclusive weapon activation.
  • Other rare resources.

4. Promoting Mason to UR

Starting from the second week of the season, an event will appear where you can promote Mason from SSR to UR level. It is recommended to wait for the right moment to:

  • Earn maximum points in the Duel VS event.
  • Invest your resources efficiently.

A detailed guide on upgrading Mason will be available in the Mason Upgrade Guide.

5. Hero Level Swap

The event starts on the first day of the second week of the season and lasts for 42 days. Key features:

  • You can select two heroes and swap their experience levels.
  • Some skills may be temporarily locked if the resulting level is lower than the skill requirements.
  • Especially useful if you accidentally leveled up the "wrong" hero.
  • Crucial for instantly strengthening new heroes when they are released.

The detailed process will be covered in the Hero Level Swap guide.

Season 1 Professions

With the start of the first season, a new building becomes available — the Hall of Professions. Here, players can choose their specialization. Currently, two professions are available:

  • Engineer
  • Military Leader

Professions grant access to unique skills. Every five profession levels, two core skills and one seasonal skill (marked by a green column in the skill tree) become available.

Core skills remain even after the season ends. You can check them out in our detailed professions guide. Here, we will focus specifically on the features of the first season.

Seasonal Skill Features

Unlike core skills, seasonal skills are the same for both the Engineer and the Military Leader. They focus on:

  • Gaining Profession EXP (leveling is only possible during the season; the off-season does not allow for EXP accumulation).
  • Simplifying the completion of seasonal tasks and events.

Seasonal skills should be developed to the maximum, as without them, completing season goals becomes significantly more difficult. You cannot skip skills in the tree — they must be studied sequentially.

After the season ends, points spent on seasonal skills will be reset, and you can freely redistribute them into core skills.
